“I enjoy getting to know the tenants and helping people. They wouldn’t be able to do what we do, if we didn’t do it for them.”
“As domestics, we cover the whole of North Yorkshire, cleaning homes when people leave ready for the next people, stairwells and entrances in flats and at The Crossing, the young people’s scheme. Broadacres has a big impact on the community, we offer a lot of housing and there’s always someone on the end of the phone if something goes wrong. We always make time for our customers. “There’s a good work/life balance here and lots of training on everything from fraud to chemicals to safe driving. It’s a nice place to work and everyone is chatty, happy and helpful. There’s always someone to ask if you need anything. I can’t see myself ever working anywhere else.”
We make sure our colleagues have the skills to deliver great customer experiences and we recognise that colleagues are our most valuable asset. Our success depends on having people who can provide an excellent customer experience, which means we value everyone who works with us. We are committed to quality in all aspects of our organisation, and that includes colleagues, who are offered opportunities to grow, develop and progress, including training and qualifications.
Providing great homes, great communities and a great customer experience relies on Broadacres colleagues responding to customers in a certain way, and it’s important that our colleagues behave with respect, show empathy for others and be passionate about their role and what Broadacres does.
These values support our approach which is centred around customer experience. When we choose new colleagues, we choose them for their customer-focused approach as well as their skills, because then we know they’ll join us in living these values.
Our ‘One Broadacres’ programme helps us make sure all our colleagues understand our values and, as we say, “It’s the things we do every day that makes us Broadacres”.
To be the Best Rural Housing Association in the country.
Great people providing great homes and great customer experiences across our rural communities.
We know how important it is to attract and keep great people to help us achieve our vision of being the best rural housing association in the country. We’re proud to celebrate our colleagues with a benefits package. It includes a rewards programme with discount and gift vouchers; an extra day’s annual leave for your birthday; agile working; and help with eye care. We offer a counselling service, occupational health, money advice and a pension scheme. We also recognise hard work with long service awards, a colleague lottery and a bonus at Christmas.
We know that to be the best rural housing association, diversity and inclusion should run through all areas of the organisation, with differences being celebrated. Our aim is for Broadacres to reflect the community it serves and to be accessible to all. To us, inclusivity is not only essential to providing great customer experiences and our success as a business, it’s an intrinsic part of who we are.
